The Berowra Valley Regional Park is in the Hornsby Shire in Sydney, Australia. Notable features include the Thornleigh Zig Zag Railway, an historic quarry and a bridge spanning Tunks Creek at Galston Gorge. There are many walks to do, the longest of these include the Benowie Track (part of the Great North Walk), which runs the length of the park starting in Sydney and finishing in Newcastle. Other walks include the Calicoma walk in Cherrybrook, the Blue Gum Walk at Hornsby, plus many others. Access points to the park can be found at Pennant Hills, Cherrybrook, Dural, Westleigh, Thornleigh, Hornsby, Hornsby Heights, Galston, Mount Colah, Mount Kuring-gai and Berowra. Overnight camping is available at Crosslands and Tunks Ridge Rest Area plus other small campsites (no facilities) along the Benowie Track. The park follows the deep valley carved out by the Berowra Creek. Before venturing into the bushland, always check the weather forecast, as creeks can rise quickly from rainfall that may fall upstream from where you are. So be prepared by taking the time to think through where you are going, prepare a small back pack with essentials (including water) and always let a responsible person know where you are going and what time you expect to return. Along many parts of the track there is no mobile phone reception and please dispose of your empty bottles, wrappers and rubbish properly.
